Good Co-design

Many great co-design projects have taken place all over the world and within PROUD.
Projects that show co-design as a great approach to enable a wide range of people to have a creative contribution in the formulation and solution of a societal and economical challenge, either big or small.
Projects that used the co-design approach to harness the knowledge, experience and creative potential of all co-design participants.
Projects that brought relevant, innovative, practical solutions that could never come from one single stakeholder.

Moving Materials

What’s happening?

Moving Materials has gone digital and lives on in an exciting new format. As initiators, Material Sense acts as curator and custodian of the new evolving database.

Design Innovation Hubs

Within PROUD partners have set up innovation hubs for co-designing, testing, sharing ideas and making rapid prototyping in order to make innovation and societal change happen. The results vary from a fablab in Luxembourg, Kortrijk and Lancaster to a network and workshop space in Eindhoven and a Design Experience Lab in Essen. All of them inspiring places setting great store by knowledge exchange, network, collaboration and co-creation, and with success.
We are happy to welcome you at one of the PROUD hubs!

Based on the learnings from the PROUD hubs, a transnational modular business plan has been developed. In this business plan five main services of a hub is described. Each service has a toolkit and guideline.

The transnational modular business plan can be downloaded here.

PROUD deliveries

Help yourself in learning more about co-design through reading some of the interesting publications and papers capturing the co-design experiences of the PROUD partners and other people and organisations that joined the expanding PROUD network.

PROUD Academy

PROUD aims to help and support designers to have the right knowledge and expertise to play a key role in innovation. In that context PROUD delivered various master classes across the regions for experienced co-designers and the uninitiated, exploring the fields of co-design. Knowledge and experiences were shared between designers, SME's,  public officers, and researchers.

The master classes were offered in a variety of formats, from Facemooc to peer-to-peer master classes, so-called co-design café’s, as is presented in the movie below.

For the master classes Imagination Lancaster developed, in conjunction with the PROUD partners, nine principles of co-design, guidelines for designers to take into account when conducting co-design processes.
